Neila Burwick

Neila Burwick currently works as the Academic Support Services Coordinator at the Digital Library at Florida Atlantic University Libraries in Boca Raton Florida. She earned her degree in business at the University of Wisconsin. Her work at the FAU libraries has focused on digital libraries, imaging and digital collection standards. She has worked on several digital collections for FAU Libraries Digital Collections and for PALMM (Publication of Library and Archival Materials). She was a part of the team that has won two excellence and innovation awards from SEFLIN (South East Florida Library Information Network). As a scholar in the ALFA project and a recipient of this scholarship and a mother of a mentally and physically disabled child, Neila hopes that gaining this degree will help her expand access to resources for this generally sidelined niche of our community. Her goal is to bring the philosophy of universal access into libraries.
