Lance Simpson

Lance Simpson is a Project ALFA fellow from The University of Alabama, where he is working toward his Master’s in Library and Information Studies. Lance earned his BA from Berry College in English and Spanish. Previously, he was a civil servant with the federal government, where he worked daily with the disabled and aging population. Early on, Lance realized that his passion lay not only in serving the public, but also in working to make libraries and other government entities more accessible tools of the people by eliminating all physical and verbal barriers to service. Lance’s areas of study and professional interest include finding means through which libraries can better serve ESL populations, disabled persons (including those with physical and mental disabilities ranging on scales from mild to severe), and at risk “tweens” and teenagers.
