Kathryn Shelley

Kathryn Shelley is a Project ALFA Fellow from Wayne State University. She is originally from the Detroit area and recently received her MLIS plus the certification for Public Library Services to Children and Young Adults. She feels so honored and blessed to be part of such an amazing experience like Project ALFA. Having dealt with Cerebral Palsy for her entire life, she is more aware of certain limitations, mobility or otherwise, that people with disabilities come across in their daily existence. She believes it is important that libraries have the resources needed to help make their library accessible for all patrons, and having this wonderful group of professionals, whose studies focus not only on libraries but on the needs of the disabled, is a great start to reaching the goal of accessibility for all.
