Kara Riley

Kara Riley is originally from Phenix City, Alabama. As an undergraduate, she attended Auburn University, where she received her B.A. in Mass Communication and B.F.A. in Theatre Performance. In May of 2013, she graduated from The University of Alabama with her MLIS degree. Kara is now the Customer Development Librarian at the Florida Bureau of Braille & Talking Books Library located in Datyona Beach, Florida. Her main responsibility is developing a state-wide outreach program to increase awareness of services. She is also currently working on a pilot program with Volusia County Schools that will improve services to students who qualify for Talking Book Services. If the program is successful, it will then be implemented as a state-wide initiative. She is both grateful and overjoyed to be a part of a library community whose mission promotes equitable access to information for all.
