Gina Khirfan

Gina Khirfan is a graduate student in the School of Library and Information Science and an ALFA Fellow at Wayne State University. As a Sigma Tau Delta and MSA member, she earned a B.A. in English/specialization in writing with high honors from the University of Michigan in 2009. As a business owner, website designer, past school librarian, teacher and Girl Scout leader, Gina has the management, organization and technology skills in helping others.

Gina is an active member of a multi-cultural community, along with interfaith dialogue and volunteer work in helping the elderly and children with English and computer skills. She is a co-founder of DOA (Daughters of Abraham) Genesee County chapter, an interfaith book club, a member of MAS, ICNA, ALA and ASCLA. It is with the ALFA philosophy of universal access that she hopes to implement into a librarian career where she can help diverse communities of social, ethnic and religious backgrounds with disabilities.
