Amy Stone

Amy Stone is currently enrolled in the MLIS program at The University of Alabama. She received her B.A. in International Business from Samford University in Birmingham, AL, and her M.B.A. from The University of Alabama.

After completing her M.B.A., Amy went to work for a leading manufacturer of commercial playground equipment as a product manager and marketing analyst. One of the focuses of this company was to develop playground equipment that enabled ALL people to play, including children with or without disabilities as well as their parents and grandparents. It was here that she observed first-hand how attention to the small things could make a huge difference in someone’s life.

Amy hopes to work in an academic or special library upon graduation. In her work, she plans to implement the many lessons learned through Project ALFA to be a passionate advocate for those patrons who face obstacles because of their advancing age.
