Amanda Moore

Amanda Moore is a graduate student in the School of Library and Information Studies at The University of Alabama and a member of ALFA Cohort 2. She completed her undergraduate coursework at UA as well, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Creative Writing. She has worked at the Paul R. Jones Gallery in downtown Tuscaloosa since its opening in Summer 2011, where she is lucky enough to interact with one of the largest collections of African American art in the country. She is also an intern at The University of Alabama Press, where she assists with metadata curation in the area of permissions and copyrights.

She hopes to combine her arts, SLIS, and ALFA education to make museums and special collections available to the community at large, so that no one will suffer from a lack of access to information or beauty. Outside of academia, she is an aspiring writer (that most ignoble thing!) and illustrator.
